Madelyn’s Exciting Beach Adventure, Written by Sharon Joffey and Illustrated by Rianna Gleeson
A young girl named Madelyn visits the beach with her mother and father for a sunny day of fun.
Scattered along the beach Madelyn finds unique seashells and also various garbage that has found a place in the sand. She couldn’t understand why so much litter adorned the beautiful beaches and so she decided to do something about it and throw more trash in between making sandcastles and swimming with her family.
After a long day of playing and cleaning, Madelyn decided to invite friends to help her clean the beach, filling big green bags and having a great time collecting all the trash. And at the end of the day, after all her efforts, Madelyn’s parents tell her how proud they are of her for making a difference in the world and that one young child can help to save the world.
A sweet story about one girl’s mission to save the beaches she dearly loves, one sand bucket at a time. Madelyn’s empathetic gesture to gather her friends and family and help keep the beaches she loves free from local pollution, is a testimony that you can be a small size and BIG in heart. And that it takes just ONE to kickstart a movement to bring awareness and momentum to saving the environment.
A wonderful read for primary and elementary students with a meaningful message of giving back to your community through thoughtful action. Our future is in good hands if all the young boys and girls can take such caring action as Madelyn has…one sand bucket at at time! Thank you Madelyn!
