Jet: A Fast-Paced Reading Intervention

Jet: A Fast-Paced Reading Intervention is a one-year curriculum developed by the staff at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children. This curriculum is specifically designed for students aged fourteen and older who have dyslexia and will be implemented in one-on-one private sessions. The Jet curriculum is offered four days a week for sixty minutes each session and incorporates the five components of effective reading instruction identified by research from the National Reading Panel, which include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. This is an intensive intervention, and students who complete the Jet instruction have shown significant growth in all areas of these reading skills.
