Pair these animal magnets with wooden letters to spell various animal words.
Animal Magnets- This box of 20 wooden animal magnets comes within its own wooden box. I have used these magnets within my own dyslexia therapy classroom to teach initial sounds, final sounds, and conduct a syllable sort! The illustrations are vibrant and familiar to little hands and your child can grow with these materials as they develop as readers and writers. They are the perfect compliment to write sentences with familiar sight words and serve as excellent starters to write sentences and stories!

See & Spell- This wooden box contains 8 wooden boards, double sided with simple spellings of familiar words. Your child can use the colorful wooden letters to spell the entire word or parts of the word you wish to target like the initial, medial, or ending sound. I find that the wooden letters can also be used with the other Melissa & Doug materials featured in this blog. Pair them with the wooden magnets to identify the initial letter of each word or even spell out the magnet illustration. Your child will love these wooden letters to manipulate, and there are so many alternative ways to use the letters such as sequencing them, spelling additional words, and making word ladders!
Self-Correcting A-Z Letter Puzzles- Students at the age of four and above love to be independent! This learning activity invites your little one to match a wooden illustration to its initial letter sound. Your child will be able to self-correct with these well crafted wooden puzzle pieces, providing time for engaging independent practice. Both uppercase and lowercase letters are featured on each wooden puzzle with a familiar keyword to highlight each letter of the alphabet!
Alphabet Nesting And Stacking Blocks-This was one of the first additions to my twin’s playroom. These captivating nesting blocks allow your child to sequence the letters of the alphabet.
